The Ask
To honor Walt “Clyde” Frazier’s 80th birthday and legendary career, the Knicks and MSG wanted a campaign that celebrated his legacy and connected with fans of all ages. The centerpiece: a children’s book that needed to feel authentic, unforgettable, and Knicks through and through.

The Approach
In partnership with Walt, MSG, and Bright Time Books, we directed and illustrated the Winning & Grinning children’s book, telling Clyde’s story with vibrant visuals and sharp storytelling. The campaign included:
- Full art direction and product design for the book
- In-arena motion graphics and game-day content
- Giveaways and promotions at MSG
- Collaborations with the Garden of Dreams Foundation and game-day meet & greets
We also designed custom basketballs wrapped in the book’s artwork for fans and VIPs.

The Impact
Winning & Grinning became a season-long celebration of Walt’s legacy. The book appeared on The Today Show, sold in MSG stores, and was given to all 20,000 fans on April 30th. From earned media to in-game experiences, the project became a standout fusion of nostalgia, art, and fandom.
